Flashback doesn't have wifi. A little inconvenient? Maybe. Mega-nostalgic? Oh yeah, for sure. All you need is a power outlet and a spot next to your router. We got you covered for the ethernet cable :)

Say hello to friends & family, goodbye to strangers.

Only the contacts you approve in the Tin Can mobile app can get through. No robocalls, no strangers, just voices you know and trust.

Want our Party Line Plan? You'll be able to add external contacts with regular phone numbers to your approved list.

Folks with the free Can2Can Plan can add and approve contact requests from other Tin Cans.

Both the Party Line Plan and the Can 2 Can plan support 911 calling.

Lights out = Tin Can off.

Don't want the phone ringing off the hook at 10pm? Set Quiet Hours to prevent calls in and out, on your schedule.

A phone they can call their own.

Let’s face it. You’ve been your kid’s secretary long enough. Tin Can gives them the independence (and confidence!) to connect with friends all on their own. So that play date back-and-forth? They totally have it covered. Score!

There are Two Tin Can Plans, Man.

Tin Can supports calling other Tin Cans for free, and regular phone numbers with our Party Line Plan. Both plans support 911 calling.

CAN 2 CAN PLAN

Call other Tin Cans, free.

Free calling to other Tin Cans is included for every device, no subscription required.†

PARTY LINE PLAN

Call Friends and Family for $9.99 / month. First month free.

Let your kid call grandma, friends, your own cell, and more. As always, only callers you approve can communicate with your Tin Can.†

Also: your first month is free :)

†Subject to a valid account & our terms of service.

Tin Can is the new-school landline for friends. And parents. And grandparents. And maybe your cool aunt. But yeah, definitely for friends.

Amazing product that my 2 and 4 year old really enjoy. They absolutely love calling everyone and when the phone rings they are super excited to run and get it! Great product just need more of them in stock so we can give them to more friends.

We love our flashback, though I do wish it had the same WiFi capability that made it able to be in a more ideal spot in our house, BUT most of all I’m so impressed with this company. Customer service is unmatched. They kindly and quickly helped me with a number of issues that came up during the Christmas season, and every team member I talked with went above and beyond. Love this phone and glad to support a business like this!

I bought my niece a Tin Can because I wanted to be able to call her and her brother without having to go through their parents. My niece just turned 5 and she calls me on her own when she wants. Her brother is older and we uses her phone quite a bit too! I love it!

Tin can is a great option for kids when you are holding off on cell phones. This is a much healthier option. Great customer service as well. 10/10

It’s fun to watch my daughter have conversations with her friends without a screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tin Can?

Tin Can is a screen-free, kid-friendly home phone that lets kids call and receive calls from approved contacts — giving them independence without the risks of smartphones or internet access.

My router's in an inconvenient place (utility closet, basement etc.) Can I use an extender to operate my Flashback somewhere more convenient?

This can work, but because internet speed, signal strength, and choice of Wi-Fi extender varies from home-to-home, we can't guarantee that it will. We want you to have an amazing experience with your Flashback, so we're cautious in recommending this route given the range of success (or failure) we've seen.

Can Tin Cans call regular phone numbers?

If on the Party Line Plan ($9.99 / month) they can call anyone that you add as an "approved contact" in the mobile app. This includes external numbers (e.g. cell phones, landlines, etc). Additionally, they can call other Tin Cans that you approve; Can2Can calling is available on both the Partly Line Plan and the Can2Can plan (no monthly subscription required).

Can Tin Cans call other Tin Cans?

Yes! Whether you're on the free or paid plan, you'll be able to call other Tin Cans.

Can people call into the Tin Can?

Yes — anyone on the approved list can call your Tin Can (including approved external numbers if you have the Party Line Plan ($9.99 / month)

Does Tin Can support 911 calls?

Yes you can enable 911 emergency calling from the Tin Can mobile app. You can also disable it if your kids aren't ready for this feature.

Is the Tin Can a cordless phone?

Nope, sure isn't! And we designed it that way. Conversations are richer when we're not running around, and it also keeps Tin Cans away from the dinner table.

Does Tin Can need a landline or phone jack to work?

Nope — Tin Can looks like a classic landline, but it it doesn't need a phone jack. Plug it into a power outlet and connect it directly to your home internet router with an ethernet cable. Once you log in to the parent companion app available on iOS and Android, you'll be ready to ring!

What happens when quiet hours are turned on?

Quiet hours fully disable both incoming and outgoing calls. It's perfect for bedtime, study time, or anytime you want the phone to take a break. If you have 911 enabled, however, you'll still be able to dial 911 during quiet hours.

†Lifetime calling subject to continued availability of our services, a valid account, and our terms of service.
